Your commitment to your animal is paramount. <strong>We do not have multiple homes waiting to take in birds.<\/strong> Please know that smaller, readily available species (conures, cockatiels, lovebirds, budgies) tend to stay in rescue for multiple months and are very difficult to find adoptive homes for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greta&#8217;s Roost runs exclusively on a network of foster homes in Southern Alberta. Each foster home has specific requirements and needs for taking in any surrendered birds. We have very limited space and we take in surrenders based on the needs of the birds, not on the needs of the humans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>We do not intake non-parrot species of birds (finches, doves, etc.).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you are requesting surrender due to behavior issues (ie. biting, screaming, etc) please try our friends at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parrotsos.com\">ParrotSOS<\/a> first!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-nv-c-2-color\"><strong>If you identify that you are surrendering due to behavior issues with you bird, you will be referred to ParrotSOS<\/strong> <strong>for a consultation.<\/strong> We are NOT behavior experts, and our rescue is not meant to be used as a training facility. If you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">refuse<\/span> to consult with ParrotSOS, you will be <strong>required<\/strong> to pay a surrender fee, based on the species and behavior requirements so that we can have ParrotSOS support the bird&#8217;s journey in rescue. <\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-nv-c-2-color\">If you are requesting surrender due to &#8220;not enough time&#8221;, you will be required to provide a surrender fee based on the species of bird and their average time in rescue. <\/mark><\/strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-nv-c-2-color\">A consult with ParrotSOS can help you set up your home and environment for success with your bird<\/mark><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-nv-c-2-color\">. <\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you are considering surrender, please know that we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">require<\/span> all the supplies that the bird currently has, including cage, food, vet records, toys, etc. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">They must be in clean and suitable condition.<\/span><\/strong> <strong>You are also required to transport the bird in a suitable travel crate\/cage.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">You will be responsible<\/span> for arranging transport of the bird to an intake home location, which could be in Calgary or Lethbridge, depending on foster placement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please fill out the contact us form below to request surrender.
