We adopted Snoopy February 2024 and she is the light of my life! She is very much a “Mommy’s girl” and wants me within eyesight at all times. She’s been learning to read this year and now has a book collection that rivals my own! She loves books and can read fairly complex sentences. Not too shabby for a late starter. She turns 28 in April!

Christian – Adopted November 2023.
Such a smart, sweet man. His vocabulary is growing and he gets more confident as time goes on. He isn’t a cuddler and instead prefers to watch over us and patiently wait for a glimpse of a potato type of food.
His favorite toy is anything that makes lots of noise.

Echo! My foster fail but it was so meant to be.
What a little brat she was when first received her! Biting, dive bombing feet and aggressive. But through many interactions and working with her to stop the aggression my family and I started to see her potential and she became very social, cuddly and sassy. When a friend mentioned they might want to adopt her, my heart ached. I couldn’t even let her live next door! Despite her bad habits and excitable aggression I knew she was going to end up staying.
Echo, after 2 years of patience, unconditional love and lots of dance parties is unrecognizable to who she was. She has learned how to talk and says “Thank you!” In context! She is learning to harness train and has been out on many adventures with mommy. At the art studio, outside, painting and teaching with her momma’s students. She livens up the art studio and all her momma’s students adore when she comes to visit.
She is such a snuggle bug and LOVES to dance! She knows the word dance and needs music…typically rap or hip hop to get her groove on and MUST have everyone in the room to participate. She gets the whole room partying with her!
Echos completed two family road trips and enjoys visiting Grandma, Aunty and Uncle.
She has her favorite toys, anything with bells or plastic shinies or the little toy shoes and she sleeps in a cardboard tunnel or upside down on her swing like a little bat.
Love my little muppet. She’s already supported me through so much and is a great comfort to me. I always look forward to coming home to her.
Thank you Gretas for helping me find my forever best friend!

We adopted Bean in October 2025 after meeting her at Parrot Palooza; we were originally told she would be more of a one-person bird, but she’s been making tons of progress with letting multiple people hold her!

My husband and I just adopted Coco November 2025. She is adjusting well to her new home and opening up so much. She is goofy and playful. We are so happy to have her in our lives.

Harry adopted December 2024

Einstein, my delightfully weird little buddy.

Momo, foster failed July 2024!

Momo was my first foster bird with Greta’s Roost, and my very first foster fail too! She goes with me everywhere and is my brave adventure bird – we go camping, hiking, sightseeing, all of it together. She loves to be the center of attention but is also very shy about it, she will act like she wants nothing to do with you but then sing her heart out once you turn your back! I am so happy to be a part of her life.

Mia is always on my shoulder or sitting in my hand. She has brought so much joy to my life! She is a sweet and sassy little bird

Naranja our little naked guy

Yoshi, our rose crown conure, first came to us as a foster bird in early Sept, 2024. He instantly bonded with us and was just the sweetest little conure! A few months later, we began fostering a lovebird named Zoey. Within 5 minutes of being let out of her cage, she had chosen Yoshi to be her bestie and whether he liked it or not, she was preening him! Needless to say, we also foster-failed on Zoey! Fast forward 15 months after first bringing Yoshi home…he’s now eating a balanced diet of seeds, pellets, nuts, and even some veggies! His feathers are healthy, bright, and beautiful and he no longer plucks. He flies incredibly well and loves spending time with his girl, Zoey. It’s amazing how receiving vet care, eating a proper parrot diet, having access to enriching toys, and of course being very much loved, both by us and his feather friend, can do to greatly improve the life of a once ugly little conure. Best foster-fail ever.
