Axel

Alexandrine Parakeet

Axel is a hilarious, intelligent and entertaining companion who keeps his foster family laughing every day with his endless chatter and loveable antics. His ability to talk and imitate is unfounded and he picks up new phrases very quickly. Some of his favorite words include: “hello!”, “good morning!”, “whatcha doing?”, “peekaboo!”, and “out?”, along with many more.

Axel is fairly independent and is happy entertaining himself with a good supply of wooden toys to chew and shred. His foster family affectionately calls him the “beaver of the house”. He loves a bath in a bowl or with a spray mister.

Axel is still learning to trust that hands are not dangerous. He is working on stepping up on a perch instead of hands and this is coming along. He will happily return to his cage for a treat whenever he is asked to do so. Axel LOVES food and will ask for “breakfast” when he would like a treat. \

Axel would do best in a home without small birds or where he can be safely separated from them. Their quick flying and movements seem to make him nervous. This guy would be suitable for a home looking for an entertaining yet independent bird. Axel will come with his large 32×24 dome-top cage and all supplies. Anyone looking to adopt Axel must be prepared to supply him large amounts of wood to chew on a daily basis.

Diesel

Military Macaw

Diesel is an absolutely gorgeous military macaw. He was rescued from a breeding ring in Saskatchewan. Because of this, Diesel is quite hand and people shy. He had a physical exam while in Saskatchewan and appears to be healthy.

He will step up on a perch willingly to be transported to a stand. He is a very loud bird when he wants to be (as most macaws are). Diesel will need a patient home willing to go at his pace. Diesel seems to be fine with other birds in the home as long as they aren’t in his space. He will come with a large 40×30 play-top cage. Diesel is not a suitable bird for children.

Squeaky is kind of a picky little guy and he’ll let you know if he doesn’t like something. He’s fairly shy, but once he likes you he will accept scritches and give you kisses (he makes kissy noises).He also only likes his head/beak being touched. He will bathe in his water bowl too. He’s also quite a clever little guy. He would do well in a home that is aware of parrotlet body language. He does well around other small birds. He will come with his cage and accessories.

Ripley and Hicks are an absolutely beautiful pair of cockatiels! They love to watch their foster family do everything and they are very bonded. They are excellent fliers and enjoy zooming around the house together checking everything out. Ripley (female, pearl) enjoys head rubs. Hicks (male) is a little more hesitant towards humans at this time. Both are still a little hand shy and are working on stepping up. They would be a great addition to any family home looking for a fun pair. They are good around other small birds. They will come with their large 32×24 flight cage and all supplies.

Archie & Gibson

Archie (green, 14 years) and Gibbs (blue, 7 years) are a wonderful little best friend pair of male quakers. They enjoy spending time together and out of their cage with their family members. Both are trained to fly to your shoulder or back to their cage, and they both love to eat!

These 2 are great with other birds around them in the home. They would be suitable for any family looking for some quaker joy in their life.

Pairs are a great option for busier families as they have each other when the family is out of the home.

Mr. Birby

Mr. Birby is a cute little lovebird looking for a flock to call his own. He prefers bird company over humans but will fly onto your head or shoulder to interact. He would do best in a home with other small birds that he can befriend. He would do well in any family environment looking to add a sweet lovebird to their flock. He will come with his cage and accessories.
